Eilidh married Rory in East Lothian, Scotland and we are thrilled to share some pictures from their magical winter wedding day. Eilidh chose the super romantic Windsor Halls dress with sparkling lace bodice and beautiful floor-sweeping skirt. She finished her look with a fur stole – the perfect winter wedding styling. The bouquet in peachy tones with abundant greenery was the prettiest floral choice for midwinter and it beautifully complimented the gown. We also love the sparkly sequin dresses worn by the bridesmaids!
A few words from Eilidh about her Lyn Ashworth wedding dress journey:
“With only 5 months between our engagement and wedding, finding a dress was my first priority! We knew I needed a sample dress to fit with my tight deadline, so anything on display was up for consideration. Bridal gowns in every style, shape and colour were liberally plucked off the rails by the three of us. All the dresses were beautiful, all were too big for my teeny frame! Everything was considered and tried on.
Like all brides, I wanted something that would make me feel and look wonderful. Yet my list of wants and needs were a little more extensive than most… I was born with a genetic condition called cystic fibrosis, which at that point in my life had caused my weight to be extremely low and my lung function precarious. I needed a dress that for a moment would distract me from the list of medications I would have to continue later that day, that would keep me warm and make me look well. A dress that would be my armour.
When I tried on Windsor Halls, it fulfilled my wish list in every way: a subtle warmth in the off-white fabric, and sparkling lace bodice gently sweeping across my shoulders into a v-back, and the most beautiful line of buttons leading to a billowing silk skirt…. It felt perfect for a midwinter wedding. Of course, I picked the dress that would need the most alterations! Choosing it was an act of trust between me, the dress and the seamstress. Yet I had a feeling that it would eventually feel like it was made just for me—and it did!
I am continually grateful for the expertise of everyone who were completely supportive in every way. Fours years later, I still find myself swooning at my Lyn Ashworth dress!”
