A collection inspired when walking in endless beautiful English countryside.
Yard upon yard of silk dupion, organza, satin and the finest lace creates something of natural beauty, so romantic they take your breath away.
Inspired by the beauty of the English country garden, this year's Lyn Ashworth collection combines the luxury of silk, the richness of satin and the delicacy of floral motifs, with the romance of rose hues.
Styles are stunning in their simplicity; skirts are full but elegant; bodices demure but not shy, resulting in a very confident and quintessentially British collection.
The 2014 “Romantic Collection” comes from a time when dressing was an elegant art. Each dress has been designed to be cherished and loved encapsulating the imagination of all brides and creating an old mystique for today’s woman. Styles have been refined showcasing a timelessly modern yet romantic and feminine structure. The finest quality bodices are complimented beautifully by sweeping pleats, billowing skirts, gathered waistlines and slinky figure kissing shapes all in the most exquisite silks, laces, crepe satin and organza, all draped to perfection. With subtle understated luxuries of graceful sleeves and belts accentuating ball gown waists.
This collection is a little more demure with overlays, sleeves and the prettiest of jackets. English cotton lace and delicate French silk lace compliment each other beautifully, gathered into frills on necklines and cuffs. Colour palettes are a mixture of warmer sea pearl tones or crisp ivory all adorned with velvet and satin ties in rich colour tones of blue, pink, nude or olive green. Accessories are key to this trend with each gown having the ability to evolve from day through to evening, swapping a flower velvet brooch belt for a sparkly starry night belt or alternatively, change a simple buckle belt for a ribbon art deco sash. Also, the ability to remove pretty lace jackets and straps to give a more evening look to the gown for the reception or simply adding a cotton lace wrap to cover the shoulders as evening falls. Let your imagination run wild!
