The story behind BOA Boutique, Richmond

With a premier address, Richmond Hill, BOA Boutique has proven to be a big hit with London and Surrey brides, due to its lovely decor, fantastic customer service and of course elegant range of wedding, mother of the bride and bridesmaid dresses.

We caught up with proprietor, Sheila Harding, who has an impressive CV in the fashion and wedding world and what appeals to her about Lyn Ashworth:

“We are in our 4th year, and are looking forward to the next years ahead! The business is growing and evolving!

“I started in Selfridges bridal department in 1979! And ended up assisting the buyer on her buying trips which was great fun for a 20-25year old! Best of all, as I was a size 10 in those days ( with a pretty good figure!) when the house models were not around it was down to me to model the gowns, so we could all see how they looked! It still is really the only way to see a gown, but obviously I do not model them anymore, that would be just silly!

“I was attracted to Lyn Ashworth because we were looking for a collection that was beautiful, classic and quality, it was also very important that it was made in England, cut extremely well and was relatively exclusive. Added to this that the designer Sarah Barrett has a wealth of experience in the bridal industry and is a joy to work with, which makes us all very confident with special orders placed for our brides! The 2016 is the 2nd collection we have ordered from Lyn Ashworth, it continues to be beautiful and show excellence in every way!

“Our brides will love the 2016 collection because it is a collection of beautiful, soft, romantic wedding gowns any bride would dream about wearing on her very special day.”

Sheila’s top tip for brides to be:

“Try lots of styles and keep an open mind this is the only time you will do this, try different styles as you may be surprised  at what suits you? Also understand the process and difference of ordering a special order dress; stock size dress or a made to measure dress.

“Most importantly enjoy this time in your life, you are getting married to someone that loves you and wants to spend the rest of their life with you, how wonderful is that! You cannot buy that, so the rest is just trimmings! Although wonderful trimmings can help to make the day very special and memorable.”

The story of a Lyn Ashworth Bride

Cheryl Smith nee Hampton married her beau, Andrew Smith in a stunning Mexican wedding on 14th May 2015.

Taking place on a private beach within a national marine park in Tulum, Mexico, 30 friends and family attended the breathtaking ceremony.

Cheryl look absolutely stunning in her Frosted Champagne gown from  Lyn Ashworth by Sarah Barrett. She is one half of the lovely boutique, Trousseau Haus that also stocks the Lyn Ashworth collection. The other half of the boutique, Jodie, was Cheryl’s maid of honour and now sister in law.

Cheryl’s bridemaids were dressed in ivory and blush pink and it was an on trend marsala coloured wedding suit for groom and groomsmen.

With a handmade flower crown and pearl edged veil, Cheryl looked every bit the fairy tale princess for her exotic wedding.

The guests celebrated with margarita’s and tequilas ALL night and where treated to a mariachi band playing after the ceremony.

The fabulous Michelle Court from Court on Camera was our MUA for the shoot.

We are once again working with stylist to the stars and the hair genius that is Gary Baker! He is the ambassador for UNITE Hair products and flew over from California for the shoot.

We are in love with the undo and flower combo by Gary!

Last but by no means least is our fantastic photographer Bruce Smith, who captures the dresses in such a natural and romantic way.IMG_6635
